The American people have voted, resoundingly, for change. The last eight years of George W Bush has truly taken its toll on America, militarily, economically, ecologically, and diplomatically.

Barack Obama with his acceptance speech last night in Chicago called for "a new dawn in American leadership", and boy have we waited long enough. I feel sufficiently optimistic to declare our long dark odyssey over.
